On the way to the Dak Bungalow from Patna Railway Station, you must have seen this castle in the middle of a pile of garbage on Frazer Road. Well, it wasn't always like this. This palace once has given shelter to many freedom fighters. But today this palace is fighting for its existence.

Rizwan Castle situated in Patna, Bihar is a Scottish-style castle built by the legendary barrister Syed Hasan Imam in the 1920s.

Syed Hasan Imam was an Indian politician who served as the President of the Indian National Congress. He was the younger brother of freedom fighter, Sir Ali Imam

Rizwan Castle looks like a fort but it is not built on height nor has a ladder to climb. there is no dome to guard the fort nor a place for watchmen.

This is a palace that is built in gothic architecture, portico is built in the center, windows are of gothic style, the cross is also built above the windows.

It is said that there were fountains in the lawn but Now you can only find scattered garbage all over the premises, there is a pond at the front side of the castle due to no drainage of sewage water.

This place has been given to BMP to live and the rest of the premises functions as a garbage dump along with open-air urinals and a place for parking vehicles.

Not a tourist spot but this is a place worth taking a look. It is almost as old as Patna High Court building. It was built around 1880. It was later donated to Shia Waqf Board and after long legal battle they were given the rights over this place along with other places around this area. Currently it was being used for housing BMP personnel. It's in shambles and most doors and windows need repairing. In case you are around Dak Bunglow Chowk in Patna, this building would be worth taking a look.

The Rizwan Palace.
The palace looks gorgeous.

Though the near by area is not so well maintained by municipality.
"FAULT OF GOVT." that inspite of having such great monuments not everyone even knows about them and consider visiting Rajasthan to see old monuments.
