Archaeologically very rich place. Earlier this place was known as Rajjouna during the time of britishers. Many buddhist and shaivic sculptures were recovered from and around this area.This area was part of the kingdom ruled by Pala rulers and was known as "Krimila" at that time. Even in the satellite imagery one could clearly see the numerous circular plots in this area which were ancient religious places .

Lord Shiva.. Very famous religious site in Ashok Dham region but unfortunately neglected one. Hope this place will get due attention in near future.
