This is one of the few clocks in Bihar and one of the few remaining clocks in India that shows the time by sunlight. Britishers made this clock in 1871 in Dehri on Sone, Rohtas, Bihar.

it was installed on a platform. There is a triangular plate of metal in the middle of the clock and the number is marked through the angle. According to the research investigator, this is such a device that calculates the time in the day. It is called nomon. It works on the principle that as the sun moves from east to west during the day. Similarly, the shadow of an object moves from west to east. The Sun casts a shadow on the lined surface, showing the hours of the day. For the reliability of time, the sun clock has to be kept in line with the axis of Earth's rotation.

This clock was made by the British so that they could make the employees of the Irrigation Department work according to the routine. But now there is no one to look after this clock. If it is not preserved in time then this heritage will be destroyed, and the coming generation will be deprived of this clock.

Shadow Clock ( prachin dhup gadhi ) is a natural clock which used to watch time by the help of sun shadow.

This is really amazing Clock.

I proud, who made this awesome architect????????.

It is made up of rock and a solid sheet which is like triangular shape.

I think, this is made by British in 1871.
This is in front of Government ITI, Dehri on sone.
