This place is known in Assamese history as Rudrasagar. However it seems everybody including govt agencies refer this place as Nau Pukhuri, i.e. New Pond. Area is beautiful, well maintained and easily accessible. An Ahom era Shiva Temple is situated on the bank of the lake. Accomodation is also available in govt tourist resort. Nearby area has the Zoonskaya resort.

No doubt this is one of the finest place of Sivasagar,but I had a very bad experience here which I would like to share, I went to this place with one of my friend,suddenly to our surprise 4/5 local peoples came near to our car and started demanding for money,they tried to take out my laptop which was in the back seat of my car,when I resist they tried to broke glass of my car,my friend somehow managed to call Police than only those peoples run away.
After that I didn't visited this place till date,I highly suggest tourist to go and visit in groups of at least more than three.
