Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar is the central Shaheed Minar of Sylhet district located in Chauhatta area of u200bu200bSylhet metropolis, Bangladesh.

The main designer of Sylhet's central Shaheed Minar is Shahjalal Science and Technology University's architecture department teacher Shubojit Chowdhury. Also Kaushik Saha, Sipaul Bar Chowdhury, Dhiman Chandra Biswas and Jishnu Kumar Das worked as associate architects in its construction.

This Shaheed Minar is made by mixing Sylhet tradition. It has been built with the appearance of the blue sun appearing on the new horizon through the tea garden of Sylhet and the fighting spirit of contemporary Bengal. The area of u200bu200bSylhet central Shaheed Minar is 33 percent. The Shaheed Minar has been installed on 8 percent of this area. 100 feet wide undulating land has been created in it. This moving land is expressed as the main theme of Shaheed Minar. There are three pillars standing high from the ground. The height of the middle pillar is 45 feet. The 45-feet-high pillar rising from the undulating ground symbolizes the fighting spirit of the Bengalis. The combined width of the three pillars is 30 feet. The pillars are made of concrete and topped with white stone. The central pillar has a crimson sun. The sun is placed on the pillar to herald the new day through sunrise. This red sun made of steel is five and a half feet in diameter. The two pillars to the right and left of the central pillar have four window-like parts. These windows symbolically represent the free life of Bengali.
