I and my Late Father along with my Little sister used to go this temple just behind our house in Madhuranagar in the years 1968-72, once every week or sometimes twice a week, and especially during Vinayaka Chathurthi Day. It was in the middle of a huge coconut grove owned by one Mr. Padimittayya . It is a Beautiful Temple whose entrance shaped is like Lord Ganesha opening his trunk and mouth. Inside the mouth would be a gate enclosing Beautiful Lord Ganesha Statue Idol along with Idols of Goddesses Parvati, & Lord Shiva. Only one of its kind in South India I think. Beautiful colour and architecture. Small shapes of Folklore from Lord Ganesh story adorne over the Head of the Ganesha Entrance

Lovely landmark temple of Lord Vinayaka at LALITHA nagar Visakhapatnam. The name thondam Vinayaka temple came from the big elephant head with raised trunk. Any auto,taxi, you tell them this name they will immediately recognize the area.
