Lots of interesting facts and museum to explore from. This place is open from 10.30am-4.30 pm and they are very strict with timings. Photography is not allowed inside the building but you can do it in other places.

Absolute 5 star for this place. The ticket price is Rs 20. Extra 50 rupees ticket needed for clicking pictures except inside the museum. The entry is from the west side of the building. In the Google Map it is given wrong. This place also serves as Ravindra Bharati University as written over the gate. Small place as a museum. But has lots of items to see. Only few that is one or two original clothes are preserved. A hall is there with large oil paintings. The family tree looks amazing. There are Chinese galleries, where, I saw Chinese visitors accompanied by local Chinese speaking guide. There are Thai and Japanese galleries too. You can go up to the second floor. Except the large courtyard there is also a smaller courtyard. There is a family Labour room. We need to open the shoes and submit large baggage for entering the museum or previous living rooms of Tagore family. Clicking pictures is strictly prohibited inside the building in spite of having 50 rupees camera ticket. You can see large proportion of Bangladeshi visitors. Also, a kind of cartoon exhibition was going on in the building just left from the gate after entering. There is also auditorium which was closed. The toilet is for free in the South side of the building.

It was a wonderful experience to visit the ancestral house of the Tagore's turned into a museum. It is within walking distance from Girish Park metro station.
Tickets are 20/- each, children till 10 years exempted. Each of the room caters to a theme and are studded with rare invaluable pics and notes. It easily consumes half a day for a casual Tagore lover to delve into these. It was an exhilarating experience to say the least.
Limited car parking is available, but if one has an option it is better to take the public transport route.
