Very bad travel agent of kolkata among the available travel agents, at present, in comparison the package cost . Request everybody to enquire in detail before fix up tour packages with "Chalo Jaai".
Recently we had a trip with them at Leh - Ladakh(4/6/2023 to 14/6/2023). They have provided accommodation in the hotels far away from the cities and also of sub-standard categories. Food quality was very bad and very ordinary. All most everybody of our co travelers suffers from stomach problems due to sub-standard food they have served to us.
Tour manager Mr Jayanta Dey was very rude in nature and behaves very bad with us. He miss guided us right from beginning. We have reported at Srinagar to them. In kolkata prior to journey meeting this very man told us that taxi fare from Srinagar airport to the hotel will be rupees 600 to 700, but actually prepaid govt run taxi booth took 1530 /- for the same. He demoralized us in enjoying all the spots and provide insufficient time in the spots to enjoy.

I recently embarked on a trip to Silk-Route in East Sikkim with "Chalo Jai" and felt it necessary to share my honest feedback. While my experience with them had some drawbacks, it is important to note both the positive and negative aspects of my journey.

Adjustments and Refunds:
My initial booking with "Chalo Jai" was made in January 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the trip was cancelled due to the unforeseen circumstances. Instead of refunding my advance payment of Rs. 31,000, they offered to adjust it towards a future booking. However, upon booking a new trip, only Rs. 25,000 was adjusted, and the remaining Rs. 6,000 was promised to be adjusted in a future trip. This discrepancy seemed unreasonable, as the total amount I paid was more than double the initial advance. It left me questioning their refund policy and their reasoning behind the adjustment.

Accommodations:
During my trip, the homestays arranged by "Chalo Jai" fell short of expectations. The properties were poorly maintained, with unclean bed sheets and blankets that were less than inviting.

Food and Snacks:
The quality of the food served during lunch and dinner was average. However, I found the portion sizes of the evening snacks to be insufficient, with strict limits imposed on the number of items per person. Additionally, the quantity of noodles and pasta served on different days was inadequate. We also faced difficulties in obtaining a cup of coffee, despite requesting it on multiple occasions (I think they offered coffee only once during the entire trip).

Drinking Water:
Throughout the trip, we were required to purchase drinking water as the homestays lacked proper water purification facilities. This added to our inconvenience and increased the overall expenses.

Managerial Issues:
The manager assigned to our group could have been more cooperative and efficient. His constant somber demeanor and frequent reminders about complaints created a less-than-pleasant atmosphere. Moreover, he failed to cater to the needs of all 22 individuals in the group effectively. A particular incident involving an altercation between a car driver arranged by the tour operator and a fellow traveler could have been handled better. Despite the manager's presence, he did not take appropriate action to resolve the situation promptly and effectively.

To summarize, my trip to the Silk Route with "Chalo Jai" did not meet my expectations based on the amount I spent. I am now faced with the dilemma of either forfeiting the unadjusted amount of Rs. 6,000 or being compelled to take another trip with them. It is essential for "Chalo Jai" management to address these concerns and take appropriate steps to enhance the overall customer experience.

P.S.: The only positive from this trip was the group we were in. We all mingled well and were there for each other throughout the trip.
