Sariyatal is a small but very alluring lake located at a distance of just 5 kilometres from Nainital. This almost heart-shaped lake is quite appealing what with its blue shimmering waters and serene environment. You can spend some time in solitude here basking in the absolute beauty of nature.

Visible from the hilly road, the lake looks green and beautiful with the reflection of surrounding trees. The Himalayan Botanic Gardens, an important centre for the study of botany, is situated along the banks of this lake. Within this botanical garden, a butterfly park, library, herbarium, fernery and auditorium are located.
