A spiritual place around 29 km from rishikesh. Many devotees come there to worship Lord Shiva.

There is no particular parking area, you have to park on the road side.

Roads are available till the temple.

A bit of improvement is required to make the place more beautiful and clean.

Holy place , You will enjoy the ride while travelling to neelkanth temple full of Hill Nature and Greenery Must Visit Once.
Neelkanth is an ancient temple, it is said that this is the same place where Lord Shiva drank the poison emanating from the ocean.
If you have your own vehicle then you can go very comfortably.
If you do not have your own vehicle then you will have to taxi, sharing autos do not go that high.
Please DRIVE CAREFULLY because the road is too short and very sharp and curved turnings are there also , Don’t drink and drive .
However, it is thoroughly miss managed. There are numerous shops all around which completely obscure the temple. Direction to temple can be be confusing if you ask shopkeepers.
Do not remove your shoes too soon as every shopkeeper offers/asks you to remove shoes.If you do make sure you remember which you removed your shoes at. Better take picture of shop and lane.
Little bit rough n tough journey for heart patient and old age people.
At an altitude of approx. 7,000 ft. you feel in the lap of natural beauty.

This is historical temple and much revered by Hindu people. However, it is thoroughly miss managed. There are numerous shops all around which completely obscure the temple. Direction to temple can be be confusing if you ask shopkeepers. Just go through the arch that you will see on your right. This is the shortest way to find temple. Temple compound is filthy. Interior of temple is not much better either. There is mad rush. Do not remove your shoes too soon as every shopkeeper offers/asks you to remove shoes. If you do make sure you remember which you removed your shoes at. Better take picture of shop and lane. Best to carry a bag to remove shoes and put inside to carry with you. Car parking is another mess. On weekday late morning we found cars parked for a kilometer long stretch. Remaining road was jammed by two lanes of cares- one in each direction. Scooters fill in all the space in between cars. Walk at you risk if you do not mind a bone being broken, chances are not high but be on guard. Not worth going. As we say God is every where so visit a temple near to your home and put all donations only in donation boxes.
