It's an important temple for Hindus and locals have a lot of faith in it. People go here to tie a red thread as a wish and once the wish comes true they go back and open the thread. There are three ways to reach it, one by steps (800+) and the other one by the trolley ride for those who can't climb and the third via a Trek. I would recommend the Trek. Its an easy one plus offers excellent views of the plains below. Also visit at the earliest possible hour to avoid crowds. It can be a very busy place.
