The clear blue waters of the lake surrounded by towering mountains, verdant forests, and rolling meadows make it an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature.

The lake is nestled in the picturesque village of Bhimtal and is accessible via a short trek from the nearest town. The trek is not too strenuous and can be completed in a matter of hours, making it an ideal destination for families and beginners. Along the way, you will come across several beautiful waterfalls, streams, and local flora and fauna that will keep you captivated throughout the journey.

The lake itself is a perfect spot for fishing, boating, and picnicking. The boats are available for hire, and the calm waters make it an ideal place to try your hand at fishing. The lake is also a popular spot for bird-watching, as many migratory birds flock here during the winter months.

Nainital is called the land of lakes. It has numerous lakes- Nainital, Bhimtal, Sattal, Naukuchiya tal, etc and many more smaller lakes.
Bhimtal is the largest lake in Uttarakhand. With tremendous water volume. The lake is surrounded with mountains and trees. whether here is quite peculiar as it turns around quickly. Like if now your seeing a clear sky, the clouds will appear at any time and the weather will turn to cloudy and windy. That is one of the many amazing characteristics of this place.
Lke is beautiful and serene, the view of water casting the reflection of mountain and sky makes it mesmerizing and motivational.

It is one of the major tourist destination place in Uttarakhand where you can find every bit of beauty, adventure and quality.
There are vast varieties of water sports like boating, paddling, kayaking, zorbing, etc. When I visited Bhimtal (i.e., June 2022) the prices started from 300 to 500 Rs. These prices may vary from time to time and in accordance with Govt policies.

Apart from water sports Bhimtal also provides different spots including paragliding, hot air balloon, mountain biking, rappelling, zip lining and trekking.

Now from a good height you can have the view of both Bhimtal and Naukuchiya Taal. They are actually very close from each other and also very close from Nainital. So when you go to a good height in Bhimtal (like in my case when I went to paragliding takeoff zone) we could see both Bhimtal and Naukuchiya tal. Naukuchiya tal is the deepest lake in Uttarakhand. So to have the opportunity to see both of them in one trip from one point is really amazing and beautiful.

About the place, the lake is surrounded by road and there are numerous shops and restaurants to fulfill all your needs. You will find adventure shops and their respective agents at every distance so you need not worry about pre bookings. And also unlike Nainital, there is no pre booking required to enter Bhimtal. The government has also declined any need for vaccination certificate. The tourism is wide open throughout the year so you can go anytime you feel free.

One thing is certain about this place or any other tourist place in Uttarakhand that the price range vary from time to time. Like in the peek tourism season the prices are generally high.... while in low tourism seasons like winters and monsoon, the price range is low.
Also in peek monsoon season due to heavy rains and floods the government bans every adventure sports. And sometimes when the roads become dangerous with flash floods and landslides , the govt even bans from entering such places. So if your planning to come in monsoon season (between July to August) always make sure to first do some research about the place in internet.

That was just a precaution warning as a dedicated Uttarakhand citizen. Ofcourse you are always welcomed here. There is a lot to do here from adventure, sports to spending a quality time with your family and friends. You'll gain a lot of experience and joy. You'll surely have a wonderful - most memorable vacation. So do come and visit this place.
The place is quite smaller so you will require only one day to visit the place and have all the fun. Thus you will have plenty of time to visit other nearby lakes and places as well.
That way if your planning a 3-4 days trip you will be able to go to different places and have their experiences in one trip.

What a pleasant experience it was for having visited one of the BEST places in India, a few days back.

*) The weather is cold over here. Hence, you might wanna carry along some jackets/wa clothes. Especially, during the night time.

*) The boating guy charged us 400 bucks for almost 1 hr, 2 people - which I found quite an okay deal.

*) The feeling one gets by staying at this place close to the nature is so damn refreshing.

*) A lot of good food stalls like momos, tea stalls, chowmin, etc. could be found in close proximity of this lake.

*) A large number of hotels, restaurants could be seen in the vicinity of this lake.

A must MUSTTT visit!!!
