I went to Marina Beach and not to Memorial. So my reviews is only for Marina Beach
This beach is good for a walk with your friends and family. Lots of small shops and vendors along with Horse and bike rides and small fair for kids. Great place to spend quality time with loved ones.
But, people doesn't take care of such places. They treat such places as dustbins. In the beach, you can find alcohol bottles, popcorn plastics and many more. I also found kid's diaper as well.
Anyways, its comments regarding beach and not for any complain :) You have to cross the 300-400 meter SAND area to touch the water but its pleasant to walk on the sand. Police was also there for security purpose.

Nice place to visit in the evening because in the day time it's very hot. No entry pass were taken. Just near Marina beach.. Walking distance. Overall it was good. Also good for photography

This place is located on main road and open these days.
Parking is located in nearby beach site
Best is to take one auto/taxi on rent and go for city walk.
The beaches are also at walkable distance.
You can go inside and pay homage to MGR and Jaylalita
