Stayer here for 2.5 days in March end after my kaziranga trip. Unfortunately it was raining that week in Assam so weather was not cooperating. Only on last day there was no rain & all species tried to come out a bit.

Coming to the homestay, it's the only homestay available just 5 mins walk from gibbon sanctuary main gate. It's a homestay run by the family members who converted 2 rooms of their ancestor's house for guests. They are constructing few more rooms nearby the house which will be ready soon, so the homestay quality gonna be more good

Very friendly & kind owners who are ready to assist you anytime. Tasty food being served all 3 times a day - morning black chai with biscuit, packed breakfast which will be delivered at 10am inside jungle, lunch and dinner will be Assam style chicken / fish / duck based on ur request.

Homestay got a small pond in the backyard which attracts few birds, kingfisher & fishing cats too. If possible go for a night walk around the pond n tea estate you might spot few species

Room is very basic & I felt more than sufficient inside the jungle. Hot water will be served for both bath & drinking based on request.

There is railway track just infront of homestay so you might get annoyed specially while sleeping. Airtel got good network coverage here & jio hardly works. Take leech socks , quality shoes to walk inside jungle, rain coat / umbrella, water bottle

There will be no evening snacks, so incase if you need something to eat in evening better take some snacks, fruits or mug noodles along like I did.

Overall an excellent stay right infront of gibbon sanctuary & I thoroughly enjoyed. Will recommend to others also who wish to spend peaceful time in & around sanctuary.

Note: Jorhat airport Is hardly 45mins - 1hr from the homestay & 3-4 hours travel via road from kaziranga.

Casual homestay. I stayed in a single room in the Assam type house for 800 rupees. Very basic but adequate, homey and friendly enough. Just five minutes' walk from the entry to the gibbon sanctuary. Meals provided (not included in price) - basic home made thali. Hot water by bucket only. Adequate English spoken by several members of the host family. Across the street from a major railroad - bring earplugs if you'll be bothered by the frequent trains passing. No shops around except a small stand next door. Enjoy the village life! But don't walk near the forest at night - it's prohibited because of serious danger from wild elephants. One of the owners [thanks for the correction], Jayanta (Bubu), is particularly friendly and passionate about both tourism and ecology.

Very homely behaviour of the owner. Food is good. Family members are always willing to help. Rooms need to be improved a bit more.
