Rengma is a Naga tribe found in Nagaland and Assam states. Major population of the Rengmas are from Tseminyü District of Nagaland which is a newly created district bifurcated from Kohima District.
Rengmas make yellow dye from the flowers of a tree, and also practice painting on clothes. The main festival of the Rengmas called Ngada is a festival of harvest and celebrated just after the harvest which is towards the end of November. It is an eight-day long festival that is mark with cultural dance and folklores. The village high priest (Phesengu) announces the date of commencement of the festival.
