It's one of the most loved ???? place in Meghalaya, just a treat to eye ???? ????, clean, green and cool environment.
The lake view is just awesome no words to explain, just visit and feel it.
If you are visiting then try the speed boat ???? once, especially the Anaconda one. It's better with 10 persons, one will cost approximately 118 rupees.
Highly recommend ???? ????.

Umiam Lake located on the way to Shillong from Guwahati is an enjoyable, a must place to visit while in Meghalaya. The lake has crystal clear transparent green and blue water. It has boating facilities but it's operation depends on the wind as winds are too strong here sometimes. One restaurant is available within the premises, which has snacks tea and coffee.

A must visit beautiful and scenic place just an hour journey from Guwahati situated near Barapani, Meghalaya.

It has a beautiful lake, Umiam which looks stunning almost throughout the year with its blueish colored water. This lake is surrounded by a few many beautiful green mountains which give this lake a mesmerizing look. If you are a nature lover and you want a day out with your friends/families who love to have a scenic and a peaceful outing, then this lake is for you. You will be mesmerized with its serene beauty whether it's calm and peaceful beauty of the lake water, the greenery of the surrounding mountains, the ups and downs of the roads and just everything.

The best part is they the Meghalaya administration has taken this tourist spot to another level by opening a tourism building (you can say office) to maintain the gathering of tourists in this spot with discipline along with systematic revenue collection. They charge only Rs 50 bucks for a single person to visit this serene spot.

Moreover, if you want to experience boating, they also provide the same. But just be cautious while boating as this lake is very deep.

So, visit this place without a second thought and enjoy your outing. You will be mesmerized and do not forget to thank me later ;-)
