Visiting religious places has always been my hobby and I love to explore the diversity in faith and belief systems. Many doctrines of Christian faith have flourished in India especially during colonial time. Many missions from Europe visited India during that time. People from all the socio economic strata converted and found peace. During our visit to North East to attend National Anthropological Congress, we visited Shillong. we found this Cathedral Church and was unable to stop the urge to see this place closely. We entered the church and it was a good experience. We didn't find much people around as we were really interested to have a talk to anyone who is living inside the church. The church was very clean. Gardens and buildings were well maintained. We spent some time and came back. We had very less time that day otherwise we could spent more time there to know about the history of this church. Architecture has a great place in religion and is considered revered in each faith. I have seen many religious places in Europe and with experience can say that gothic and roman architecture has been central to Christian faith. This type of architecture defused to the world with colonialism along with Christianity. If you ever travel to North East and happened to be in Shillong then don't miss to visit this church. You will definitely feel good. Stay safe and all the best for your adventure.

The biggest Church in Shillong. You must visit and experience the beautiful vibe in and out of the area.
