This is a got-to place for the locals of imphal. Friends and family often visit here to hangout and have a nice time.

This lake also serves as a tourist spot for everyone visiting Manipur for the first time. There is a trend of staying in those makeshift hotels in the middle of the lake and also exploring wetlands using the motor boat. These boats could be registered on an hourly basis or route basis from the govt counter established within the building.

The boating centre is the perfect option to access scenic views of Loktak lake and surrounding areas. There are multiple options to hire a boat ride and this includes speed boats and motor boats with maximum capacity restricted to 6 persons in motor boats. There are various price options. The best option is to book a ride for a lake including a 15 minute stay in a makeshift hotel in the middle of lake. It costs INR 1200. Life jackets available. The staff are friendly. Boats are clean and well maintained. Overall a great experience.

Loktak Lake is the largest fresh water lake in India with round floating islands which makes this a unique geographical structure that is only present in Manipur.
