I strongly suggest the qualififications of the people who works here must be checked and verified. If their certificates are found genuine, the curriculum of the college they have studied must be checked by a qualified independent agency.

When similar organizations and even private TV stations outside India are predicting precise weather forecasts, in Kerala its a joke!

We claim that we have "state-of-art" weather satellites up in the space, why are we not getting reliable weather forecasts? It needs dedicated and qualified people who can analyze the data we receive, not jokers what we have now who has no commitment to the taxpayers who pays their salary.

The daily rainfall updates and other statistics are highly informative. But the rainfall shown for Trivandrum city is misleading. For eg. on 26/8/19 evening, between 7:30 and 8:15 there was a heavy downpour in the north eastern parts of the city, just 2-3 kms from the IMD Observatory, which wss personally recorded to be 4 cms. But the rains in the Observatory Hills, where IMD is located recorded only 1.5 cms of rain. Hence it is suggested that IMD TVM should arrange to have two recordings, one for the city which is currently shown and another recording for Tvm (Rural) or (North). May be they could arrange a Sub-centre for rainfall guage station put up somewhere near Auvikkara Dam, or Peppara Dam. It must be borne in mind that the north eastern parts adjoining the highranges areas, of Thiruvananthapuram, get more than 250 cms of rain annually, whereas the City is recorded to get only around 150-175 cms annually. The no of rainy days in these areas are Thus the Northeastern parts of the city has a distinct rainfall pattern.
