I visited this place in 2015. Bonacaud picket station is the checking point for entry into the Agasthyarkoodam Biosphere. This comes under the Peppara wildlife sanctuary of the Kerala Forest Department. The entry for the Agasthyarkoodam trekking is permitted from this point after verifying the entry passes. The entry is from 8.00 am to 11.00 am. All the baggages are thouroughly checked. Prohibited items like liquor, ciggrates, plastic etc are not permitted. If seen violated, heavy fine is imposed on the trekkers. Visitors have to book online. Usually trekking is permitted for one month only every year. It is regulated to 100 trekkers per day. The facilities in this base point is very limited. A mess for obtaining food, tea, coffee etc is available. Few washrooms are also available here.

This is the starting point of agasthyarkoodam trekking. Trekkers need to report here and the officials verify your I'd proof check your bag and finally provide permission to start trekking. There is a small canteen here.

It is a forest office and entry gate to the agasthayrkoodem trekking. The officilas will check the entry pass. Being the origin place of some rivers to kerala and tamilnadu agasthayrkoodem trekkers will not permitted to carry plastic covers or bottles etc. Strict checking by forest officials will be there.. if some one want carry plastic bottles or container's they have to pay some amounts and will retrun the amount after trekking and showing the same item once they reach same station. Trekkers have to reach here before 9 o clk on trekking day
